The cinematographic work is the reflection of the society we are living in, it reveals the different observations and perspectives.
More than articulate the Portuguese movie, as singular object of the social- economical conditions and cultural situations that is involved, it is most important to elaborate the analysis of its audience and the construction of its reception spaces.
Evaluating the coincidence between receptors code, knowledge level, references an appreciation criteria, we will focus on the problem of the audience contact with the Portuguese cinema.
The importance of the spectator is vital when approaching the cinematographic phenomenon. This is because the cinema, as reference to stimulate new sensations, seems to necessarily imply a reflection about the spectator experience and the reality that it is going to experiment. As for this it is urgent to know what is his place and logic preferences, expectations and considerations and the final reasons of his choices.
